Auditions for the September-October season of Andrew Bovell’s “black-ish” comedy After Dinner will be held at the Old Mill Theatre from 10am to 4pm, Sunday, August 7.
Two males and three females, all in their late 20s/30s are required (note these are stage ages only). The season will run from September 30 to October 15.
Synopsis: It’s a suburban pub bistro on a Friday evening. Three office workers are seeking a good night out. At an adjoining table is Gordon, recently abandoned by his wife, and the upwardly-mobile Stephen who are seeking the same – but with different ideas! As the night progresses social restraint is abandoned, exposing the foibles, pain and humour of their inner lives. This is an acutely-observed but tender-hearted account of relationships and behaviour.
It’s been described as: “An Australian comedy of sharp and black social comment, full of wry insights…”
CAST REQUIRED:
Gordon – bank worker
Dympie – office worker
Paula – office worker
Monika – office worker
