Audition Notice – The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler

10am-4pm, Saturday, May 12

Venue:  Music Room, Kent Street Senior High School, 89 Kent Street, Kensington

Director: Megan Burley

An Obie Award-winning play of a forbidden zone, The Vagina Monologues introduces a wildly divergent gathering of female voices, including a six-year-old girl, a septuagenarian New Yorker, a vagina workshop participant, a woman who witnesses the birth of her grand-daughter, a Bosnian survivor of rape and a feminist happy to have found a man who “liked to look at it”.

Cast needed: 4-6 females of ages ranging from 18-80. Megan says: “I am looking for a range of ages and types of females that represent the broad cross-section of voices that are expressed through the play. There is a mix of monologues and ensemble work so the cast also need to blend well together.”

Auditions are by appointment and can be booked via

Audition requirements: a monologue will be sent to auditionees one week prior for them to become familiar with it (not required to memorise). A cold reading and some group work with fellow auditionees will also be asked of at the audition.
